hi speed internet access is in– blogging will return very soon

Filed under: services — aroundthebend @ 7:07 pm

Apologies for the delay in blogging our progress.  We just got hi speed access.  Dialup was just too painfully slow to update the blog when we were tired at night.  I’ll try to catch up in the next couple of days…. check back soon.

(June 1) I’ve started updating finally.  Since I posted about hi-speed it turned out to be unreliable (“hmmmm, looks like your signal is a bit flaky….”)..  It seems now to be fixed .. though I’m taking advantage of access in Toronto right now to do the updating.

An essential part of all building sites.  This one has the slogan “Cream of the crap.”  Visitors are welcome to enjoy the comforts of home.

waterwellOur well was drilled just before we arrived on site. It ended up 320 feet deep but provides 10 gallons per minute.  Once we had our hydro hooked up we were able to run the pump and pressure tank temporarily set up in the little white “dog house.”  The picture to the right is the first water we produced from our well.  We have running water permanently in the trailer now.

arndbendap26-002.jpghydro1We had our permanent hydro service put on the log cabin.  Power will go to the house underground.  This way we don’t have to pay for temporary power service and we have plenty of power for building and for living in the trailer.  About a week after living with just a small solar panel keeping the trailer battery going, Hydro came in an hooked up our service.  Lots of lights and … power for the pump in the well.
